Continuing Education
Because You Never Stop Learning.
GIA's Continuing Education Recognition Program (CERP) helps graduates stay current on the latest trends in gemology and the jewelry industry. Offered completely online, the program delivers education in an easy-to-access, media-rich format, that's not only full of practical content, but also fun to view. What's more, the program provides graduates with an additional credential that communicates their commitment to life-long learning and professional development.
How It Works
Sign up for CERP and get access to GIA on iTunes U where you can view and download a variety of audio and video podcasts on a wide range of topics including manufacturing, mining, and the latest treatments and synthetics entering the marketplace.
Complete at least five of the program assignments and their corresponding questionnaires with a score of 75% of better on each assignment. Questionnaires are completed online via My GIA, the student portal. When you've passed a minimum of five assignments, submit an online Petition to Graduate. Upon verification that you've met all the requirements, you'll receive a credential suitable for framing along with a seal (first year), and a seal for every year you successfully complete the program thereafter.
You can sign up any time during the year, but you must complete the program by February 28th of the following year.
